Baguio Break.

We had tons of fun in Baguio in spite of the 48 hour long rain, freakishly cold winds, and scary-ass fog.  The seven of us stayed at my place -- (in order of appearance) Paul, Chris, Pao, Ryx, Mon, Marie, and Daphne.
Predictably, the classes were really boring. I had to step out of the room every 30 minutes just to keep myself awake.  We were all on vacation mode and were busy snapping away at the back of the class to entertain ourselves.

They organized an activity for us at the public market, this is our SHROD team -- Marie, Mon, Denise, Miles, and Ray. 

We were supposed to interview people and do.. stuff.  I can't remember what the point of the whole exercise was because we were too busy shopping.

We drank at my place the second night. 

We played an exciting round of cranium. Team number 3 -- Chris, Paul, Ryx, A, and Monica.

The dream team won by a landslide.

Afterwards, we played some poker.

We drank a bit too much and had to skip class the next day.

I have no idea what these guys were drinking.

Gossip is good for the soul.

    For some reason, I've turned into a real gossip freak lately.  I think it's because my classmates and I really have nothing to talk about other than school and school-related "activities".  We met each other at an age when we've been through a lot already and we all have our separate lives.  Your daily life in these walls are such a drag that you really want to keep it separate from your normal life.  I'm good friends with a lot of my classmates because the experiences we share are intense.  People who haven't gone through the crazy projects, extreme group papers, and impossibly long hours will never understand the bond that links us all together.  But you never really learn anything about each other's outside lives.  So all you can talk about is how that teacher's a bitch and this paper's a drag and how many hours of sleep you had last night. 
    After some time you run out of school-related things to talk about and you start discussing:
1. that girl who likes this guy so much she sends tons of chocolates every week
2. this guy who supposedly had a gay encounter with somebody
3. this dude who got stinking drunk and pissed on his bed
4. the couple who got caught necking in the dorm bathroom
5. the group of guys who went to a strip club
6. the cheating girl who talks shit in class
7. the guy who's sort of cheating on his girlfriend with his school crush
8. the new secret couple
9. the latest victim of the you-don't-have-time-for-me-anymore break-up
10. how many days he's skipped taking a shower
11. how heartbroken he was when she broke up with him and went back to her old boyfriend
12. the threesome
13. the latest dorm-sex episode

Gossip is fun.

A busy, busy Baguio trip.

About a month ago, the almighty school administrators told us we'll be having a fun-filled three day Baguio vacation.  Everybody made plans for golf, ukay shopping, and drunken nights out.  But because they're a bunch of joy-suckers, they've slapped us with an impossibly full schedule. If only I had the guts I would send them a very, very angry email.

Day 1:
    5:00am - Leave Manila.  I'll be driving myself and 3 other friends because I refuse to ride in a bus full of singing Indians.  Believe me, it's not as fun as it sounds. Plus we need a car to get around Baguio (assuming they give us time to have fun, that is).
    6:30am - Stop by a furniture factory in Pampanga for some sort of educational tour.
    1:00pm - Arrive in Baguio.
    3:30pm - Workshop on creativity and intuition. Don't ask me, I am clueless as to what this is all about, I think it's some cruel joke.
    7:30pm - Activities end and we finally get some much deserved time for rest and relaxation.  We shall attempt to have a jolly good plastered time.  Note: this might not be possible because they scheduled an 8am class the next day.  Maybe we should just skip sleep and go directly to class stumbling drunk. Or better yet, skip class.

Day 2:
   8:00am - Arrive at the conference center with a freakishly bad hangover and stare at the professor with our pensive and thoughtful facial expressions.
   11:30am - Have lunch at a mediocre restaurant.
   2:30pm - Attend another boring class and talk about god knows what.
   5:30pm - Try to sneak in another hour of glorious sleep.
   7:30pm - Attend a workshop on... get ready for it... Dream Interpretation.
   9:30pm - Activities end and drinking begins.  We're planning a poker tournament!  We're also bringing Trivial Pursuit, Cranium and a Magic Sing videoke microphone.

Day 3:
   8:00am - WHAT? Another early class?! Stop the madness!
   10:00am - Activities end and the bus leaves for Manila.

Why did they even take us there when they sure as hell weren't going to give us time to ukay-shop, horseback-ride, paddle-boat, view mines, or play golf? I don't fucking know.  Sadistic freaks.

Another paper, another blog post.

    Predictably, in the middle of my paper cramming session, I decide to kill some precious time by posting an entry even if I don't really have anything to say.  Much like my reflection papers, I shall let my stream of consciousness do its thing. 

    You know that inner voice that just keeps on going in your head?  In the future, they'd be able to record that straight to .txt format and auto-forward it to your private blog.  From there it'll only be a matter of approving the non-pornographic ones for public consumption.  That way everybody'll be a great writer, or at least it will rid us of typographical and grammatical errors.  Of course I'm assuming that people don't really make mistakes in their first language.  The software will be able to translate all your Tagalog thoughts and convert them to the current international language standard. 

    Friendster blogs are crap.  If you have one, do all your friends a favor and switch to any other blog service.  Is there any other advantage to friendster blogs besides that annoying (but effective) email announcement thing?  I've never tried to build one but I have a feeling they don't give too many layout or color options since majority of my friends use the black and maroon template.

    The Indians in school have this funny (and slightly irritating) quirk, they can't pronounce V.  They say V like W.  And they just looove to use the damn letter.  It's like they use it in each and every sentence.  I never knew the letter V was such a popular consonant.  "Howewer... Ower and abowe... Mission Wision..."  Even their names are littered with V's... we have Wikram, Winit, Wishal Sriwastawa, and the ultimate... Wiwek.  Indonesians pronounce V as F.  Fikram, Finit, Fishal Srifastafa, Fifek.  Crazy twisted tongues.

    The Indians make fun of how we say "tion" like a very strong "SHON". Participay-SHON.  Alleviyay-SHON. Differenshiyay-SHON.  We think we speak English like the Americans do, they think they speak it like the Brits.  Newsflash everybody, we all sound funny to them white people.

Oh shit it's 2:30am and I'm not even halfway through my paper.  How the hell am I supposed to reflect on family corporations?  I hear bullshit bubbling.  But first, I must sleep, for tomorrow -- I cram.
