I heard a rumor that my cousin's Mr. Boss-man can get an iBook at 20% off, he's going to the US next week and I hope he agrees to buy it for me and hand-carry it back to Manila even though I've never met him. I know it's a long shot, the chances of his going through all that trouble for me are slim (hey I was able to use "me" and "slim" in the same sentence).
Option number 2 is to ask my sister to wait for a second hand unit to be offered in her University buy-and-sell website and if she finds one by the end of June my dad can bring it back to Manila. That's also not too sure and the agony of uncertainty will kill me. I will probably bug her everyday, "Check it again! Check it again!".
Option number 3 is to hope that the Great Singapore Sale 2005 covers electronics and computers and that I'll be able to bag a big discount when I go there in July.
I want my iBook NOW. If anybody knows a cheap source for the model M9623LL/A 12" iBook G4 1.2 Ghz, email me.
When I finally get to buy an iBook... I will love him and hold him and he will have a special place of honor on my desk and I will bring him with me everywhere I go and buy him an iPod playmate and I shall call him Coco.

Rule of thumb, my dear. Getting a brand new MAC is always the best option because of the one-year warranty that comes with it. Just make sure you keep the invoice because that's what the Apple Centers look for. However, if you can buy second-hand with warranty and invoice...even better =) Can't wait to see your new iBook!

I thought you needed to buy AppleCare to get warranty! Are you talking about .mac support? Is it good enough taht you don't have to buy AppleCare?

I know all powerbooks and ibooks come with a standard 1 year worldwide warranty...the Apple care warranty is the one you purchase for $100+ usd. It extends the warranty of your machine to 3 years including labor and parts. All resellers here in the Philippines include AppleCare with all portable MACs.
